BEER SO GOOD THAT BELLEVUE HAD TO END PROHIBITION TO BRING IT YOU

To understand the full story of LAB, we have to take you back to 2015. That’s the year that Bellevue finally voted to allow alcohol. Lincoln Avenue Brewery is a little different from some of the other wonderful restaurants along our main street. While Grill 565, 202 Hometown Tacos, and Revival on Lincoln now have liquor licenses that were not allowed in the borough until that monumental vote, we have a brewery license. We could have opened prior to that moment in history, but the topic of alcohol in town was so heated that we knew we wouldn’t succeed. With the passage of that referendum, we knew we could move forward with our dream with the support of the community. And since that decision, the town is thriving.

Our brewery license means that we operate in a different way that only allows us to sell local beers, wines, and spirits. This is no problem for us, as we strive in every way to source all of our products locally whenever we can. From Breadworks bread to a stout fermented with doughnuts from the iconic Lincoln Bakery, we are proud to support our friends and neighbors. We are members of PA Preferred, because seventy percent of what we sell is from our home state. We love to feature guest taps from other local breweries, and the mash that is leftover from fermenting the malt from Butler’s CNC Malting Company is used by local farmers to feed their livestock. Sometimes the pigs that eat our malt later end up on our menu as a pulled pork sandwich or a BLT on our Sunday brunch menu.

We hope you come in to sample some of our regular offerings, such as our famous pickle dip or giant pub pretzels. They go great with our Jalapeño Machete cream ale, which is named after one of our most loyal customers, or our espresso stout, which is the first beer we bottled after aging it for a year in a whiskey barrel. There are no wrong choices at LAB. In fact, we have so many great choices that we know you will be back season after season to get a chance to try them all.
